Oreon participates in project 'Eggplant year round in balance with LED' project at the Delphy Improvement Centre

For eggplant, lighting will become increasingly important for year round production. The aim of this research is to develop a cultivation strategy with LED lighting in eggplant cultivation that is future-proof and is in line with the transition towards fossil-free greenhouse horticulture. This gives growers technical and plant physiological knowledge to be able to supply eggplants all year round. Various crop measurements are made with regard to growth and plant load.

The first harvest was at the beginning of this month and the first results are very hopeful. The project is being carried out by the Delphy Improvement Center and Plant Lighting and financed by the program ‘Kas als Energiebron’, the action and innovation program of Greenhouse Horticulture in the Netherlands and the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. Crop Cooperation Eggplant and Oreon are also contributing to this project.
